Lifeboat

This is a rare chance to see Alfred Hitchcock’s survival thriller on the big screen. Now owned by Disney Studios following their acquisition of 20th Century Fox, the film strands eight strangers in a lifeboat after their ship is sunk in the Atlantic by Germans. Among them are a glamorous journalist (Tallulah Bankhead), a tough seaman (John Hodiak), a dedicated nurse (Hume Cronyn), and an injured sailor (Henry Hull). Their fragile alliance shatters when they reluctantly take aboard a ninth passenger—the Nazi captain who nearly got them killed. Tension, shifting loyalties, and claustrophobic suspense make this a gripping, edge-of-your-seat thriller worth discovering.
