Become a Star Member

Our Star Membership program has its perks! We offer our members presale access, reduced ticketing fees, parking passes, invitations to special events, and so much more. If you are interested in a membership to the theater, please check out our levels and benefits below. We offer the opportunity to purchase an annual membership or pay monthly, and you can turn on automatic renewals to keep the benefits going!

Your continued support is a direct investment in the students, teachers, artists, and community partners who participate in and guide our programming. What is a Star Membership?

Our Star Membership program allows individuals to support the theater and receive incredible, tangible benefits in return. Benefits include parking passes, invites to special events, reduced ticketing fees, presale access, and so much more. You can review the membership levels above to figure out which one is right for you!

Which shows have reduced ticketing fees?

The benefit of reduced ticketing fees with your Star Membership only applies to Live Events. When you go to purchase tickets online, we will automatically apply the appropriate discount to your ticketing fees as long as you are logged into your Star Membership account. Please note that Premium or VIP seats are not eligible for reduced fees.

Our film ticket prices and fees are already as low as possible for all patrons to ensure accessibility to our film programming, so reduced fees are not applied.

When do Star Member's get pre-sale access?

Emails announcing new shows with their pre-sale information go out on Tuesday afternoons. Most shows allow members to purchase on Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on your Star Membership level. The general public will be able to purchase tickets starting on Friday. This may vary from show to show, so please make sure you are signed up to receive these emails and are reading the show information.

Please note that you will NOT need a presale access code if you are a Star Member. Access to the appropriate pre-sales will be automatic when logged into your Star Member account.

Can I return or exchange my show tickets?

Yes! Star Members may return tickets for an account credit up to 72 hours before the event. We can hold on to this account credit to be used at a later date, or it may be immediately applied to purchase different tickets.

What are my payment options for a Star Membership?

Yes! You can choose to pay the annual fee for the membership or pay monthly. However, you save money when you pay annually. When you click to purchase a new membership or renew your current membership, you will be given the option to select your payment plan.

Carolina Theatre of Durham, Inc. is a non-profit organization. Membership donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Determining the tax-deductible amount of membership donation is the sole responsibility of the donor. Tangible benefits may be waived upon request.
