A Century of Applause.
A Lifetime of Memories.
For 100 years, the Carolina Theatre has been Durham’s stage for laughter, wonder, and inspiration.
From silver screen classics to sold-out concerts, every moment has been made possible by visionary supporters like you.
As we celebrate our Centennial in 2026, we honor the community that has sustained us, and invite you to help shape the next century of unforgettable experiences.
Your Gift Will Make a Lasting Difference
The Carolina Theatre’s Centennial will not only celebrate 100 years of bringing innovative arts and educational programming to the community, it will also serve as the platform to present original pilot programming that will reach new audiences and artists. To help underwrite the cost of this new programming as well as sustain established programs, the Theatre is launching a $5.5 million Centennial Campaign that will ensure the future of the building and these programs for generations to come.
By contributing to the Centennial Campaign, you help us:
- Preserve our historic home — safeguarding and enhancing this beloved space for the next century.
- Expand artistic programming — bringing world-class performances, films, and educational opportunities to our stage and community.
- Inspire the next generation — investing in youth engagement, access, and arts education programs that spark lifelong connections to the arts.
- Secure our future — strengthening the Theatre’s foundational operations so it can continue to serve as a vibrant cultural hub for all.
