The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band comes to the Carolina Theatre of Durham on November 6

DURHAM, NC — July 18, 2022 — The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band comes to the Carolina Theatre of Durham on “The Hits, The History & Dirt Goes Dylan” tour on November 6, 2022.

The iconic Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has been instrumental in the progression of contemporary country and roots music. Since forming in 1966, the group has reimagined classics and produced compelling new works, developing a unique sound that incorporates folk, country, rock ‘n’ roll, pop, bluegrass, and Americana. 

The current line-up of the ever-changing group includes founding member Jeff Hanna, harp master Jimmie Fadden, and soulful-voiced Bob Carpenter, who has more than 40 years of service in the ensemble. Those veterans are now joined by singer-songwriter-bass man Jim Photoglo, fiddle and mandolin wizard Ross Holmes, and Hanna’s son, singer and guitarist Jaime Hanna. 

This six-member lineup will perform past hits as well as music from their first recording together, “Dirt Does Dylan,” which features some of the most impactful songs of the past century, penned by Bob Dylan. Be prepared for remarkable harmony, thrilling instrumental flights, and undeniable stage chemistry from the band on “The Hits, The History & Dirt Goes Dylan” Tour.
