The Carolina Theatre Celebrates 100 Years with a Birthday Bash

Tickets On Sale Now

DURHAM, NC — November 12, 2025 — The Carolina Theatre is throwing the birthday bash of the century on Saturday, January 31 . Tickets are now on sale at the Barnes Box Office and online at www.carolinatheatre.org.

The Carolina Theatre’s 100th Birthday Party kicks off a full year  of special programming leading up to its Centennial in 2026. This adult version of a birthday party puts on a playful twist offering guests a chance to choose their own adventure throughout the historic venue. Guests can take a turn on the 100-year-old stage with live-band karaoke featuring Local Vocals, win big at Drag Bingo, watch classic cartoons in the cinema, do crafts, get their face painted, and take a 360-photo in the photo booth.

“Turning 100 deserves a real celebration, and we couldn’t imagine marking this milestone without the people who made it possible,” said Randy. “This party is for everyone who has ever walked through our doors, from first timers to lifelong fans. It’s a chance to raise a glass to the past and especially the future of the Carolina Theatre.

Guests are welcome to come and go throughout the evening–exploring every activity or settling into their favorite one. And of course, no birthday is complete without a toast. Guests can grab a glass of champagne and cheers to 100 years of being the heart of Durham.
