New Season of Family Saturday Series starts at The Carolina Theatre on October 7

DURHAM, NC — August 7, 2023 — The Carolina Theatre of Durham launches a new season of its Family Saturday Series on October 7, 2023. The series runs from October 2023 through May 2024.   

Family Saturday Series is an educational program that provides high-quality, affordable arts experiences and introduces young audiences to the excitement of live performances, music, storytelling, and magic. The series offers family-friendly programming for all ages one Saturday a month. 

This year’s Family Saturday Series offers a wide variety of performances featuring music from around the world. String ensemble, Integrity Stings: Bach to Beyoncé, presents an engaging classical and pop music crossover experience, while Grammy-nominated local artists, Rissi Palmer and Al Strong present their multi-faceted talents as a genre-blending performer and a culturally innovative trumpet player, respectively.

Artists Larry and Joe, Beverly Botsford and Catch a Groove Quartet, The Magic of African Rhythm, and Bailes Afro Latinos explore the colorful soundscapes of Africa and Latin America through rhythm, dance, and movement. 

The series also features a magic performance from Joshua Lozoff. Joshua Lozoff: Life is Magic will showcase astounding mental demonstrations and amazing illusions.
