New Season of Family Saturday Series starts at The Carolina Theatre on October 15

DURHAM, NC — August 16, 2022 — The Carolina Theatre of Durham launches a new season of its Family Saturday Series on October 15, 2022.
Family Saturday Series is an educational program that provides high quality, affordable arts experiences and introduces young audiences to the excitement of live performances, music, storytelling, and magic. The series offers family-friendly programming for all ages one Saturday a month, starting in October and ending in May 2023.
Tickets to Family Saturday Series performances at the Carolina Theatre start at $5, and are on sale at the box office and the venue’s website — www.carolinatheatre.org.
This year’s Family Saturday Series offers musical performances by Slippery Hill Bluegrass and multiple GRAMMY nominated local artists including “Drumcussionist,” Uncle Devon, bilingual (Spanish and English) duo 123 Andrés, and Afrofuturist musical educator Pierce Freelon.
The series also highlights unique ways of storytelling with StoryUp! Aerial Theatre’s acrobatic retelling of Aesop’s fables, Shana Tucker’s “ChamberSoul™ Cello & Songs” musical storytelling performance, The Holly Jolly Joshua Show’s puppet variety show, and Gypsy Kathaa’s Flamenco and Kathak fusion dance performance.
