Madeline Edwards Performs at the Carolina Theatre on September 26 as Part of The Wavemakers Series

DURHAM, NC —September 3, 2024— Madeline Edwards performs at the Carolina Theatre of Durham on September 26 as part of The Wavemakers Series curated by Grammy-nominated singer Rissi Palmer.  

The Wavemakers Series is a groundbreaking performance series dedicated to celebrating diverse voices in the Country and Americana genres. Palmer hand-picks emerging and innovative talents, introducing them to Durham in an expertly crafted authentic conversation. The audience connects with the artist in a live music experience unlike anything else. 

Edwards, the next singer-songwriter selected in the series, transcends musical boundaries, blending elements of jazz, soul, gospel, and country in her critically acclaimed debut album “Crashlanded.” Since breaking onto the scene with a performance at the 55th Annual CMA Awards, Edwards has been recognized as an Artist to Watch by American Songwriter, Country Now, Spotify, Pandora, and Amazon. The CMT “Next Women of Country” honoree was also named to the Color Me Country Class of 2022 by Rissi Palmer and selected as a member of the YouTube Black Voices Class of 2023.  

Her remarkable rise has featured performances on some of the genre’s biggest stages, including a debut at the Grand Ole Opry in 2022 and a performance of “You Oughta Know” with Alanis Morrisette, Ingrid Andress, Lainey Wilson, and Morgan Wade at the 2023 CMT Music Awards.
