Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band comes to the Carolina Theatre on October 7

DURHAM, NC — April 6, 2026 — The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band comes to the Carolina Theatre of Durham on October 7, 2026 on the Ledbetter Heights 30th Anniversary Tour. Tickets are now on sale at the venue’s box office and online at www.carolinatheatre.org.

Thirty years ago, a Fender Strat-wielding teenager from Shreveport, Louisiana, by the name of Kenny Wayne Shepherd brought the blues back to the mainstream with the release of his debut album “Ledbetter Heights.”

Now, three decades later, Shepherd is as vital as ever. No longer the child prodigy, he has ascended to master. His 12-album oeuvre (plus a pair of albums with his supergroup, The Rides, featuring Stephen Stills and Barry Goldberg) showcases a wildly weaving artistic continuum spanning classic and contemporary sounds.

Still touring, recording, collaborating, and evolving, he’s returned to where it all began, “Ledbetter Heights.” Shepherd’s latest is a re-recording and tour of his landmark first album, in honor of its 30th anniversary. The shows will include a performance of the full 12-track album, along with another set featuring highlights from his career.
