Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai‘i, Shimabukuro began playing the ukulele at age four and gained international recognition after his breathtaking performance of George Harrison’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” went viral, introducing millions to the instrument’s remarkable versatility.
