Uncle Jumbo

Uncle Jumbo is a Texas born son of a Disco and Reggae DJ, who got his start, as a four-year-old, playing accordion with touring Zydeco bands on the front porch of his Aunt Helen’s house in Louisiana. After spending years blending the grooves of Hip Hop 

and Soul, new inspiration struck deeply when he heard the first rhythm of his daughter’s heartbeat. Soon after, Jumbo and family held tightly to music as a way of bringing hope and healing to their home, when his daughter was diagnosed with a rare liver disease at birth. This led to the evolution of Jumbo turning his musical focus into creating heartfelt, uniting, and jammin’ music for children everywhere, in an effort to help raise generations of positive, loving people. Uncle Jumbo has released 5 albums, with “Taste the Sky” earning a GRAMMY nomination for Best Children’s Music album in 2024.

Uncle Jumbo es un texano, hijo de un DJ de disco y reggae, que dio sus primeros pasos tocando el acordeón a los cuatro años con bandas de zydeco en el porche de la casa de su tía Helen en Louisiana. Tras pasar años fusionando ritmos de hip hop y soul, se inundó de inspiración cuando oyó el primer ritmo del latido del corazón de su hija. Al poco tiempo, Jumbo y su familia se aferraron con fuerza a la música como un modo de llevar esperanza y sanación a su hogar luego de que su hija fuera diagnosticada con una rara enfermedad del hígado al nacer. Esto llevó a la evolución de Jumbo, quien viró su enfoque musical hacia la creación de música infantil sentida, unificada e improvisada en todas partes con la intención de ayudar a criar generaciones de personas positivas y afectuosas. Uncle Jumbo ha lanzado cinco álbumes, mientras que “Taste the Sky” obtuvo una nominación al Grammy como “Mejor álbum infantil” en 2024.
