von Suppé – Poet and Peasant Overture

    Dvorak – The Water Goblin

    Beethoven – Symphony No.5

The setting is Upper Bavaria and Theophil von Salbenstein, a rich landowner, is in love with Hermine von Meyen. The only problem is that Hermine has feelings for the poet Fedinand Romer, who is in turn writing love poems to Lieschen Berner. Franz von Suppé’s Poet and Peasant Overture sets the stage for this delightfully messy love story.

There may be no other story set to music that is more gripping and gruesome than Antonin Dvorak’s The Water Goblin. Based on Czech lore, this one will definitely have you keeping the lights on checking under the bed.

For the first time since its founding, The COT will knock on fate’s door. Music’s ultimate statement, Ludwig van Beethoven’s 5th Symphony is possibly music’s greatest representation of what it means to be human. Join The COT as we rejoice in the end of 2021 with this eternal masterwork.
