Tired of this election already? Try this not-totally-depressing documentary about finding power in politics with a unique exit ramp from the woke wars, fresh from a sold-out premiere at the Full Frame Film Festival. A group of self-professed “Patriotic Millionaires” descend on a tiny North Carolina town called Whiteville with an unusual goal: to convince its conservative and liberal working-class residents to set aside their partisan differences and help jump-start a national movement to tax the rich, raise the minimum wage, and save American democracy.
Tickets for this special in-person documentary screening will include one free drink at the after-party discussion located across the street at Queeny’s, hosted by Vittles Films and The Great Economy Project. Brief remarks from Director D.L. Anderson will open the evening, film will start promptly at 7:10p — so arrive earlier than usual, Durham.
