Two Lives in Pittsburgh

When Bernie Evers, a traditional blue-collar guy, learns that his boy, Matty, has been dressing up in girls’ clothes, he acts out in anger and fear. His troubles deepen with the news that Carla, his whiskey-drinking mother, is ill and doesn’t have much time. As they all struggle to confront the differences between who they’ve been, who they are, and who they want to be, they lean on friends and neighbors for help—imperfect people doing their imperfect best. In the battle to be a good parent, Carla explores her past, and Bernie is forced to question who it is that needs to change—his child or him.
