Sabotage: 90th Anniversary!

Alfred Hitchcock’s masterful adaptation of Joseph Conrad’s “The Secret Agent” is a chilling exploration of terror hiding in plain sight. Sylvia Sidney stars as Mrs. Verloc, an unsuspecting woman who discovers that her quiet, cinema-owning husband (Oscar Homolka) is actually a foreign agent planning a series of bombings across London. As Scotland Yard closes in, the domestic tension reaches a breaking point, leading to one of the most famous and agonizingly suspenseful sequences in cinematic history involving a young boy and a ticking time bomb. Dark, provocative, and relentlessly claustrophobic, this high-stakes thriller proves that the most dangerous secrets are often kept by those closest to us. It remains a stark, powerful example of the Master of Suspense at his most uncompromising.
