Father of the Bride

Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor star in a heartwarming and hilarious domestic comedy that perfectly captures the joyful chaos of wedding preparations. When the adoring but overwhelmed Stanley Banks (Tracy) learns his beloved daughter Kay (Taylor) is engaged, his comfortable suburban life is upended by a whirlwind of guest lists, caterers, and mounting expenses. Their touching bond remains the heart of the film as Stanley navigates the bittersweet reality of “losing” his daughter to adulthood. With sharp wit and a sentimental soul, the film is a gripping, sophisticated exploration of family devotion and the trial of letting go. Nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Actor, Father of the Bride is a timeless comedic masterpiece that celebrates the enduring magic of classic Hollywood charm.
