Dial M for Murder

Ray Milland is Tony Wendice, a retired tennis pro who has calculated the perfect way to murder his unfaithful wife, Margot (Grace Kelly). He blackmails an old acquaintance into doing the deed, but even the most meticulous plans can go horribly wrong. When the attempt fails, Tony must pivot in real-time to frame his wife for her own self-defense! This claustrophobic thriller plays out like a high-stakes chess match within the walls of a single apartment. Hitchcock masterfully uses the limited space to heighten the tension, making every ringing telephone a jump-scare. Sophisticated, icy, and relentlessly tense, this fan-favorite remains a masterclass in narrative economy and pure cinematic suspense.
