Frozen in ice since World War II, Captain America is revived and must save the President of the United States from an enemy with a tie to his past! Most fans of Marvel’s Captain America associate Chris Evans with the character, but he’s far from the only person to ever play the symbol of freedom. Way back in 1990, Captain America jumped onto the big screen in his own self-titled movie. Starring Matt Salinger as the titular hero and Scott Paulin as Red Skull, this classic superhero movie has mostly been forgotten to time. Director Albert Pyun (The Sword and the Sorcerer, Cyborg, Nemesis) had a troubled production on this big-budget spectacle, funding was pulled back drastically, and the finished product never really satisfied anyone, least of all director Pyun, who had high hopes of bringing Captain America into a relevant modern framework. Now, with permission from Director Abert Pyun’s estate, NC Comicon and Retro Film Series present this restored director’s cut of 1990’s “Captain America”, created by Pyun before his death, using original elements of the film which were rescued by Pyun himself.
