Best In Show

Long before every awkward interaction was a meme, director Christopher Guest perfected the mockumentary with this pitch-perfect exploration of high-stakes dog shows. This isn’t just a comedy; it’s a front-row seat to a psychological playground gone gloriously haywire. An ensemble of improvisational geniuses—including Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Jane Lynch, and Parker Posey—portray obsessive owners whose sanity is as fragile as their poodles’ grooming. The stakes? A blue ribbon and the ultimate bragging rights at the Mayflower Kennel Club. The dialogue is razor-sharp, the characters are utterly unhinged, and the cringe-inducing humor is so precise it’ll make your jaw hit the floor. A modern cult favorite that deserves every bit of its reputation, it’s a hilarious whirlwind of human (and canine) absurdity that still shreds expectations.
