Barry Lyndon

“Good or bad, handsome or ugly, rich or poor, they are all equal now.” From the visionary director of 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Shining comes a visual masterpiece of 18th-century ambition. Redmond Barry (Ryan O’Neal), a rogueish Irishman, navigates the battlefields and ballrooms of Europe in a calculated attempt to climb the social ladder and claim a title. Utilizing groundbreaking lenses to film by candlelight, Kubrick captures the grandeur and tragedy of a man undone by his own vanity. A towering achievement in world cinema, it was nominated for seven Academy Awards and won four, including Best Cinematography. This rare theatrical screening offers a chance to experience every lush, painterly frame as it was intended. It remains an essential, breathtaking epic of cinematic artistry.
