Carl Reiner’s Summer School
(PG-13, 1987, 97 min)
First-ever screening at Retro!
School’s out, and Ocean Front High gym teacher Freddy Shoop (Mark Harmon) has big plans: summer in Hawaii. But the school’s vice-principal has plans for Freddy, too: teaching remedial English to a class of misfits, including a slasher-film addict (Dean Cameron) and a female surfer (Courtney Thorne-Smith). Kirstie Alley is the non-nonsense history professor who’s keeping an eye on all the shenanigans.
