DURHAM, NC — January 5rd, 2022 —Donna Washington comes to the Carolina Theatre of Durham on January 15th at 11 am as part of the theater’s Family Saturday Series.

Tickets to see Donna Washington, Storyteller in Durham are $5 and are available at the Carolina Theatre box office, the venue’s website and through The first 50 patrons will receive free popcorn.

A highly animated performer, Donna Washington has been entertaining, educating, and inspiring audiences with her vocal pyrotechnics, elastic face, and deep characterizations that bring folklore, literary tales, and personal narratives to life for a long time. She is an internationally known, multiple award-winning storyteller, spoken word recording artist and author.

Donna Washington’s show is part of the Carolina Theatre of Durham’s Family Saturday Series, a family-based curated program for all ages. The series provides high quality, affordable arts experiences to introduce young audiences to the excitement of live performances, music, storytelling, and magic.

The Carolina Theatre of Durham requires all guests over the age of 12 to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours or full vaccination for entry. Additionally, all guests are required to wear a face mask at all times unless actively eating or drinking, regardless of vaccination status.

The Carolina Theatre has also implemented multiple safety measures including upgrading its air filtration systems to purify indoor air quality, adding enhanced cleaning methods and touchless payment options, and increasing the number of hand sanitizer stations around the building.
