Disney-Quest Film Series Returns to the Carolina Theatre of Durham in July

DURHAM, NC — June 27, 2023— Disney-Quest Film Series returns to The Carolina Theatre of Durham, starting July 1. Disney-Quest features classic animated Disney films on select Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. The series will run July through December 2023. 

The seven films in the series feature kind and courageous protagonists who value family and friendship above all. Films include “Aladdin,” “Finding Nemo,” “The Jungle Book,” “Lilo and Stitch,” and more.  

“Disney-Quest is a rare opportunity to relive the magic and adventure of your favorite Disney animated films of the past 50 years and beyond on the big screen,” says Jim Carl, Senior Director of Film at the Carolina Theatre of Durham. “These films feature impeccable storytelling and animation, while imparting meaningful lessons for the whole family.”

Disney-Quest is part of the theater’s Retro Film Series, which hosts double features of classic films most Friday nights and includes several sub-series of films like Retro Free Family Days, which features an animated film one Saturday a month during the summertime for the whole family to enjoy for free; MovieDiva Film Series, a series featuring classic films with strong female leads; NC Comicon: Bull City, which celebrates movies based on or inspired by classic comic books; and Kaiju-Quest, a Japanese-genre focused on big monsters.
