Casey Nees Brings “Muggle Magic” to Durham Oct. 16

DURHAM, NC October 12, 2021— Casey Nees performs “Muggle Magic” at the Carolina Theatre in Downtown Durham on Saturday, October 16 to open the 2021-2022 Family Saturday Series season. This year, the Series will offer a virtual viewing option for Fall performances. Tickets to see Casey Nees are $5.00 and are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com and at the venue’s website, carolinatheatre.org.

In “Muggle Magic” join Professor Casey Nees on loan from the Ministry of Non-Magical Studies as he takes your students on a fun filled program full of science and magic! Learn how non-magical folk emulate magic with the power of science. Levitation, color changing “potions”, potential and kinetic energy, singing rods and more! This fun filled program will inspire creative thinking and, in the process, show just how magical science can be. 6-10 student volunteers will come onstage but all will be engaged.

The Carolina Theatre will require all guests over the age of 12 to provide printed proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours or full vaccination for entry. The City of Durham is requiring face coverings to be worn while at the theater except while eating or drinking.

The Carolina Theatre has also implemented multiple safety measures including upgrading its air filtration systems to purify indoor air quality, adding enhanced cleaning methods and touchless payment options, and increasing the number of hand sanitizer stations around the building.
