The Carolina Theatre is thrilled to welcome guests back for film!
Our management has always taken the safety and health of all staff and guests very seriously. We’ve followed Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and North Carolina Health and Human Services (NCHHS) guidelines in preparing our venue for reopening.
CTD, together with the City of Durham, have installed state-of-the-art HVAC upgrades from Global Plasma Solutions (GPS) in our effort to help purify indoor air quality in all public spaces. These products help improve the air by reducing airborne particles, odors and pathogens. We join thousands of offices, schools, airports, and hospitals around the world who trust this technology for safe, clean indoor air quality. In addition to our enhanced santization response from the beginning of the Pandemic, we are proud to announce our commitment to achieve Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation. GBAC STAR™ is considered the gold standard for prepared facilities. Under the guidance of GBAC, a Division of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, CTD will implement the most stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention in our historic venue.
“We have long maintained an extremely high standard for cleaning and disinfection at The Carolina and are confident we meet the criteria for accreditation.” Senior Director of Facilities and Production, Joey Infinito said. “GBAC and ISSA give us the science, the training resources, and the demonstrable assurance that we are doing everything we can for the safety and well-being of our patrons.”
Carolina Theatre staff will monitor guests in regard to compliance with existing public health recommendations.
We’re happy to welcome you back to Durham’s favorite home for concerts, comedy and cinema since 1926. If you have any questions regarding our health and safety measures, please email us.
