Carolina Theatre Offers Takeout Concessions on Fridays

DURHAM, NC — May 4, 2020 — We hope this finds you well … but we KNOW you’d feel much better if you were eating Carolina Theatre popcorn. This Friday we’re going to make that happen: Carolina Theatre of Durham concessions will be available for takeout via online ordering starting May 8.

While we’re not able to re-start film screenings or live events yet, we have been given approval by the City of Durham to offer our full concessions menu for takeout on Friday evenings from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Fans can order concessions online at carolinatheatreofdurham.mobilebytes.com. Buyers will pick-up their to-go orders at the venue at 309 West Morgan St. in Durham. All staff and customers will be encouraged to abide by the City of Durham’s public health guidelines by wearing a clean face covering or mask and maintaining a social distance of six feet or more.

The menu selection includes popcorn, candy, savory snacks, beer and wine. Customers will also have the option to make a donation to support the nonprofit that operates the city-owned venue. Visa, Mastercard, Discover and debit cards are accepted.

The nonprofit is offering healthcare professionals, first-responders (EMT, fire and police), working artists and grocery store, postal and service industry employees complimentary popcorn with proof of occupation.

“Friday night is still ‘Movie Night’ with our concession take-out,” Carolina Theatre President & CEO Rebecca Newton said. “Stream your favorite film while eating the best organic popcorn around, and order beer, wine or any of your favorite concessions. What a great way to support Carolina Theatre and almost feel like you’re in one of our cinemas!”

Whether it’s fresh organic popcorn topped with real butter, classic movie candy for your sweet tooth or tasty local craft beer to wash it all down, you can order your favorite concessions online and then stop by the Carolina Theatre for easy pick-up. As always, buyers are strongly encouraged to continue to support restaurants near the theatre in downtown Durham.

Carolina Theatre takeout concessions are the perfect addition to (another) Friday night at-home AND they will remind you that, someday, you’ll get to enjoy these treats at our Friday night Retro Film Series or during a world class live event in our majestic 1,000-seat Fletcher Hall.
