Carolina Theatre Installs Free Library
July 7, 2020 by

DURHAM, NC (July 7, 2020) — The Carolina Theatre has installed a little free library in front of the venue’s historic facade at 309 West Morgan St in downtown Durham. Constructed from a vintage movie poster frame, the library will be open to the public during Takeout Concessions Fridays (4-8 p.m.). Each Friday, locals and visitors can stop by to swap books and puzzles to freshen up their shelves.
Visitors can swap books and puzzles without making a concessions purchase.
Theatre staff are following the best practices for free libraries during the COVID-19 pandemic. All visitors must abide by the City of Durham’s public health guidelines when they stop by the free library. Guidelines include wearing a mask while in public spaces. Disinfectant wipes will be provided.
The beautiful library box was constructed by Facilities & Production Manager Joey Infinito and Live Events House Manager Bonnie Brown.
