DURHAM, NC — September 27, 2022— The Carolina Theatre of Durham will host a “SplatterFlix” blood drive with the American Red Cross on Tuesday, October 4.
The blood drive will take place in Connie Moses Ball Room on the second floor of the Carolina Theatre from 10 am- 3pm. Blood donors are encouraged to sign up for one of 30 time slots online prior to the blood drive.
The blood drive takes place leading up to SplatterFlix, the Carolina Theatre’s horror film series. SplatterFlix will feature the bloodiest, scariest horror movies ever made over the course of a three-day weekend (Oct. 7-9) at the Carolina Theatre. The full series of SplatterFlix films can be found at carolinatheatre.org.
The “SplatterFlix” Blood Drive coincides with the American Red Cross new horror movie themed campaign. According to the American Red Cross, “50% of Americans like watching blood spilled in movies, but only 3% actually donate it.” Showcasing the cliched ways blood is spilled and “wasted” in horror movies, they ask: When was the last time you donated blood?
Schedule an appointment to donate blood at the “SplatterFlix” Blood Drive at the Carolina Theatre on Tuesday, October 4.
