June 19, 2024 by Sandy Lerebours

Durham Magazine is dedicated to quality local content that serves their readers, local businesses and the community. The Carolina Theatre is proud to partner with the magazine’s amazing team for thoughtful and forward-thinking marketing collaboration.

We spoke to their team about the company’s commitment to their community and their support for the Carolina Theatre!

How long have you served the Durham and larger Triangle community?

We started “Durham Magazine” in 2008 after launching “Chapel Hill Magazine” in 2006. We serve 850 Triangle-based organizations with their marketing needs while celebrating our community in the pages of our magazines, on our websites, in our e-newsletters and across our social platforms.

What services do you specialize in?

We are a multimedia organization producing city and regional magazines and digital content. We also run a digital agency to support Triangle-based organizations through quality digital advertising.

What are some community businesses that have used your services?

Our niche clients are Triangle-based organizations, ranging from the arts to food, from home and garden businesses to schools and retirement facilities, and beyond.

What is your favorite service you provide for your clients?

Our team finds joy in supporting and helping grow our local businesses through marketing and sharing their unique stories. We are surrounded by amazing entrepreneurs, nonprofits and communities that build with intention. Supporting their growth lights us up!

How have the services offered or your business in general changed over its years of operation?

We started Triangle Media Partners as a magazine company in one community. We’ve evolved, along with media everywhere, to build a robust digital audience who we talk to every day, as compared to just periodically through the magazine. In 2019, we launched a digital agency to buy Google, Meta and display ads, and to build visibility online with search engine optimization. We will continue to evolve to meet the needs and challenges that face our business community.

What is your favorite thing about the Carolina Theatre?

The Carolina Theatre has an amazing staff and commitment to our community. It brings interesting programming via its various film and concert series, and I love that it participates in or leads programs like the OUTSOUTH Queer Film Festival, Full Frame Documentary Film Festival and local arts programs including hosting Empower Dance recitals.

Why is it important to support the Carolina Theatre and arts in our community?

The arts are the special sauce of Durham. It brings us together, and it makes our city interesting. This community is open-minded and beautifully diverse. The arts reflect that and enhances it.
