The Final Performance in this Season of the Series Curated by Grammy-Nominated Singer Rissi Palmer

DURHAM, NC —March 17, 2025— Fusion Folk duo, Larry & Joe perform at the Carolina Theatre of Durham on April 17 as part of The Wavemakers Series curated by Grammy-nominated singer Rissi Palmer.

The Wavemakers Series is a groundbreaking performance series, dedicated to celebrating diverse voices and discovering your new favorite artists — hand-selected by Palmer. The series spotlights emerging and innovative talent with exceptional artistry within the Country and Americana genres.

This dynamic experience is more than just a concert series, it blends the lines between interview and live performance in a seamless journey with the artist and their craft. Guests can participate in a Q&A to conclude the evening.

“You get to meet them up close and personal, you get to talk to them, and I’m talking to them,” added Palmer, who expertly facilitates the intimate interview, performance, and question and answer session.

The final artists featured in this season of the series are Larry & Joe, a North Carolina-based duo that performs a fusion of Venezuelan and Appalachian folk music. Larry & Joe are both versatile multi-instrumentalists and singer-songwriters on a mission to show that music has no borders. Their music features a distinct blend of their musical inheritances and traditions as well as storytelling about the ways that music and social movements coalesce.

Don’t miss your chance to see Larry & Joe in this one-of-a-kind music series at the Carolina Theatre on April 17. Tickets are available at the box office and the Carolina Theatre’s website. The Wavemakers Series is sponsored by Alliance Architecture and WUNC North Carolina Public Radio.
