We believe in the right to assemble. We believe in the right to protest. We believe Black Lives Matter.
Heroes who embraced these beliefs brought important and necessary change to our venue in the 1960s. We’ve honored their memory with a permanent exhibit and we’ve never forgotten the powerful lessons learned.
Our nonprofit organization believes our venue should be an active, relevant, and sustainable organization deeply engaged in the life of Durham and the region’s residents. Our historic structure serves as a hub for diverse arts and entertainment experiences, presenting live events, film, and educational programs to enrich and celebrate our entire region.
