Throughout his career, Billy Bragg has proven himself to be an accomplished singer-songwriter and principled progressive activist. The Spirit of Americana/Free Speech in Music awardee uses his art as a catalyst to enact positive change and takes inspiration from the righteous anger of punk rock and the socially conscious lyricism of the folk music tradition. His 13 studio albums, eight compilations and two box sets are perfectly balanced with songs about hope, love and resistance.
