An Evening With John Waters Comes to the Carolina Theatre on September 20

DURHAM, NC — June 1, 2026 — An Evening With John Waters comes to the Carolina Theatre of Durham on September 20. Tickets are now on sale at the venue’s box office and online at www.carolinatheatre.org.

John Waters is back at the Carolina Theatre with a whole new fast-moving crackpot comedy show that will beg the authorities to drop a net on both himself and his rabidly insane audience. He’s dressed to thrill and ready to rant about everything that is fit to print and more that isn’t. Yessir, the Duke of Dirt has reckless eyeballs and he’s looking’ for you lunatics! Go! Go! Go to the John Waters show. He’ll make you scream; he’ll make you cream. And together we’re gonna take over the world!

This performance is the closing night event of the inaugural Page to Picture Book & Film Adaptation Festival, September 18-20 at the Carolina Theatre. The festival will screen nine film adaptations of classic literature and contemporary fiction.
